New Birds on the Block: Mark & Betty Billmayer

Plans are under way in Chinook for the annual Thanksgiving dinner to be held on Thanksgiving Day from noon to 2om at the Senior Center. It'll be an old-fashioned Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings, just like Gramma used to make. (If you're counting calories or carbs you better bring a calculator!) Everyone is welcome.

The Turkey Day committee in charge of the meal includes Big Bird-Larry Wisch, Bird Watcher- Jay Eslick, Lady Bird-Kathy O'Brien, and New Birds on the Block-Mark and Betty Billmayer. If you have any questions or suggestions for the committee give them a call. Don't worry-it won't ruffle their feathers. In fact they'd appreciate help in several ways including early birds to show up Wednesday at 1:00 to help set up. On Turkey Day they'll need cadaver carvers, spud nuts, pie guys (actually pie gals would be better but it doesn't sound as clever), and someone to make really good groovy gravy (not greasy or gross or gravelly gravy, just really good groovy gravy). Turkey Trotters will take care of deliveries. If you're willing to help there'll be a job for you.

It'd be great to have some Song Birds to share their musical talents too.

And of course homemade pies are a must. (No cream or meringue pies please). Let Jay Eslick know at 357-3211 if you can help in any of these ways.

Don't be a dodo bird and stay home that day. Join the flock at the Senior Center, get stuffed, and you'll be happy as a lark when you leave.
