Helen Marian (Anderson) Klindworth

Helen Marian Klindworth, age 95, went to meet the Lord on Oct. 16, 2017 at her son's home in Chesterfield, MO. Born Sept. 19, 1922 in Twete, MT to homesteading parents Carl G. and Hannah Anderson, she attended Turner High School, Northern Montana College and Pacific Lutheran Univ. where she earned an elementary teaching degree. Helen began teaching in Hogeland and Glasgow, MT and Richland, WA. In 1946, she married Navy Airman Carl H. (Babe) Klindworth. She became the consummate Navy officer's wife for the next 25 years, moving 20 times during his career while raising 3 children. Upon Carl's retirement in 1968, they relocated to Spanaway, WA and later to a farm in Graham, WA. Helen began substitute teaching and was hired as a full time elementary teacher in the Bethel School District where she taught primarily third grade in Spanaway, Roy, and Kapowsin elementary schools until 1987. Always active in the many churches they attended, she was a Bible Study Fellowship leader as well as leading a study at her home church.

She is survived by her son, Kendal (Beverly), daughter Karen (Casey) Kime, daughter Janet (Don) Miller, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one on the way. Helen was buried with Babe at Tahoma National Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Tacoma on Nov 11, 2017 at 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the OSLC Music Academy Scholarship.
