We've Got The County Covered
It was an up and down weekend for Montana football. Big Sandy lost to Bridger on Friday night leaving them out in the cold until next year. I think that next year will see great things from the Pioneers.
Montana Grizzlies played Northern Arizona and won which was a shock to the experts most who thought that Northern Arizona was a walk in to win that game. The score was 17 to 15 and one thing that made it easier for the Griz to win that game is that in about the first or second play of the game, the Arizona quarterback just blew up and was thrown out of the game. That helped.
That game was played in a snowstorm in Missoula. That might have helped the Griz as well.
Meanwhile over in Bobcat land another shocker was taking place when Kennesaw State beat the Bobcats16 to 14 Bozeman was predicted to win that game.
If the Griz beat the Bobcats in the Bobcat/Griz game and beat Northern Colorado next weekend, they will be in the playoffs.
The Frontier Conference was all messed up but for Northern who obliged all and lost to Southern Oregon. That score was not too bad for Northern. It was 38 to 17. There were a couple of shockers over the weekend in that Conference as Carroll beat Western. The shocker was the College of Idaho beating Montana Tech. Eastern Oregon beat Rocky.
As I am writing this column, I have the television on and Philadelphia is playing Denver. The shocker of that game is that after all the trouble that Denver went through with Kalispell’s Brock Osweiller, he is now back as quarterback of the Broncos! That is a shocker but I am happy that he is playing again somewhere. He is a good quarterback.
Then there is Philadelphia who are more of a shocker by winning their last six games in a row. Beat Denver and it will be seven in a row, It is the middle of the NFL season now and I have a feeling that Philadelphia could go all the way. They are in the National conference which is not too tough. Philadelphia has to beat Seattle and New Orleans to go on to the American Conference where they will bump into two powerhouses in New England and Pittsburgh not to mention Kansas City..
My team Seattle is at the top of the west bracket of the National conference with 5 and 2. And in the National conference don’t overlook Minnesota who had a 6 and 1 record before this weekend. The LA Rams are putting on a dazzling display of wins this season with their 5 and 2 record.
Well, how about some predictions?
Montana beats Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona beats the Bobcats.
In the Frontier conference Northern loses to the College of Idaho and Rocky has an upset and beats Western,
Week ten of the mighty NFL; here is how it is going down.
On Thursday the Seahawks beat the Cardinals.
On Sunday the Bears beat the Packers and the Lions beat the Browns.
The Steelers beat the Colts, the Chargers beat the Jaguars and the Saints beat the Bills.
The Jets beat the Buccaneers, the Vikings beat the Redskins and the Titans beat the Bengals.
The Rams beat the Texans, the Cowboys lose to the Falcons and the Giants beat the 49’ers.
The Patriots beat the Broncos and on Monday night it is the Dolphins beating the Panthers.
That is my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
