We've Got The County Covered

40 brave cold, Give Blood at Chinook Drive

There were 40 people out and about who braved the cold and windy weather on Tuesday November 7th to stop by and donate blood. Of those 40 there were 35 viable pints on a goal of 40.

There were 3 first time donors: Tandie Solberg, Rachel Gunderson and Paxtin McCann.

Carol Mangold and Josh Nordboe reached 1 gallon, Tuzz Langford 2 gallons, Melanie Qualls 4 gallons, Shelli Pruttis 9 gallons and Mark Weber 11 gallons.

The canteen was hosted by St. Gabrielle's Catholic Church and those helping out in the kitchen were Patty Hall, Rita Langford, Vernelia Tilleman and Evelyn Schubert. The time and effort by all involved certainly does not go unnoticed.

Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church once again provided the site for the drive at Wallner Hall. The hands at the registration table were short for this drive but the assistance of Donna Murdy and Patty Treft was very much appreciated. To anybody out there that did assist with the cleanup, your assistance was also very much appreciated. Finley's Food Farm provided the paper goods, coffee and juice for the drive

Door prizes were provided by the North Central Montana Cattlewomen and St. Gabrielle's Catholic Church. Prizes were awarded to Crystal Huckabee, Josh Nordboe, Lita Buck, Melanie Qualls, Mark Weber, Sandra Sorenson, Shirley MacKenzie, Elaine Hamilton, Kourtney Hanson, Kurt Hansen, and Carol Mangold.

Everyone's willingness and dedication to the Red Cross Blood Drive is very much appreciated. None of this could be done without you. With that being said, there are many opportunities for volunteering with the Red Cross Blood Drive. If you are not able to donate blood but would like to be involved in a life saving volunteer opportunity, we would love to hear from you. High School students, your volunteer hours also count towards a Red Cord at your high school graduation, even if you are not eligible to donate. If you are interested, please give Carla Jenewein a call and leave a message at 357-2491.

The next blood drive will be Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Wallner Hall. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Great Job Chinook!!
