We've Got The County Covered
This time of year is always wonderful with all the good food and good cheer floating from town to town all across Montana.
And, for me, the best of all of this time is the Christmas music which is like no other music I have ever heard.
I remember one Christmas when I had a cabin up Alkali Springs in Beaver Creek Park, I was spending Christmas at that cabin.
I had Christmas music playing and it was an English choir singing in very high pitched voices. That night it started to snow and my little evergreens in front of the house were covered with new snow and Christmas lights I had put on them, Then it got cold and we who were spending Christmas there spent a lot of time very close to the living room fireplace and curled up with books next to the old oil stove in the dining room. When we ventured outside the darkness was so crisp and we could hear that high pitched and crisp choir inside, well I have never forgotten that Christmas. It was a memorable Christmas anyway but much better because of the music. I love the hymns too. “Joy to the World” is a favorite of mine but best of all is “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”
In the popular music department, who could get through Christmas without hearing “White Christmas”?
On my TV is a place where they play hundreds of different songs of various kinds. Bless their hearts, they already have the Christmas music on and I am not getting enough of it.
Soon it will be time to deck the halls once more and time to put the Christmas lights up outside and already I have a tree for greens waiting in the back yard to deck the halls even more.
Of course all this decorating and eating and good will and good cheer is made even better because of those wonderful Christmas songs we can never get enough of.
