We've Got The County Covered

Blaine County Library

A Dog Named Christmas will be the movie today at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. It is a Hallmark movie and running time is 95 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. A Heavenly Christmas will be December 20th. We are showing the movies with closed captioning whenever possible. Hopefully this will encourage those who may have difficulties hearing the movies to attend.

We have three new movies this week. Despicable Me 3 and The Dark Tower are new releases ready for checkout. We have the latest DVD of The Backroads of Montana available as well. In Rich with Tradition, episode #44, the crew unravels the infamous legend of Clubfoot George Lane and fills up on delicacies from the Windmill Village Bakery in Ravalli. Then they follow a family on their adventure through a corn maze near Manhattan and profile a Glasgow man who changed careers and found success with Busted knuckle Brewery.

We have two non-fiction books available this week. If you are looking for a biography with some local connection, you will want to read “Aunt Eleanor’s Men: A True Story of One Woman’s Pursuit of Grandeur” by V.E. Palm. This book is the interesting life story of Vic Palm’s Great Aunt Eleanor. Vic donated a signed copy to the library. Another non-fiction book with a local connection, is “The Art of Fear: Why Conquering Fear Won’t Work and What to do Instead” by Kristen Ulmer. Ulmer is a facilitator who draws from her tenure as the best woman extreme skier in the world for twelve years and from thousands of hours facilitating clients on the subject of fear. She is the daughter-in-law of Gale Jellum. Gale donated this book to our library.

The display table for December has a nice assortment of new and old Christmas books for your enjoyment. Be sure to check out the on-going book sale in the entryway while you are here. You may find something you just can’t do without! All proceeds from our book sales goes into our memorial fund and is used for special programming.

This week’s line from “Life’s Little Instruction Book” #304 Judge your success by the degree that you’re enjoying peace, health, and love.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
