'Beeters, Wildcats impressive in final home appearance

The Chinook Sugarbeeter and Harlem Wildcat wrestling teams honored their seniors this past weekend. Chinook held its final mixer of the season on Friday and Harlem hosted the Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.

The Sugarbeeters picked up 71 points, good for fifth Saturday while the Wildcats recorded 44 and finished eighth. Hays/Lodge Pole was eleventh with four points.

Chinook sophomore Reubin Swenson was the champion in the 205 pound division. Swenson earned a hard fought 9-4 decision over Cooper Larson of Glasgow in the Championship match.

Also placing for the Sugarbeeters was freshman Rebecca Stroh who finished third at 103. Freshman Garrett Pruttis was fourth at 120 pounds, junior Ross Reed was third at 145 pounds and freshman Favion Couturier was fouth at 160 pounds.

For the Wildcats it was senior Gavin Horn finishing third at 113 pounds. Junior Ken Todd finished third at 120 pounds and freshman Xavier Walker was fourth at 285.

The teams will compete in Big Sandy this week and then head to the Northern B/C Divisional in Malta on February 3.
