Tornadoes Celebrate Homecoming

Coronation of Royalty was held recently for the 2017-2018 Homecoming at Turner High School. Four high school boys and girls were delegates for the festivities. Last year's reigning queen and king, Melanie Watkins and Eddie Harmon, passed the crowns to the incoming royalty that was recently held at half court during the varsity boys game recently. Two second grade girls, Olivia Keller and Quin Billmayer brought the envelope to half court with the names of the incoming royalty to be announced. After the game, a sock hop was held at the Old Gym for all seventh through senior grades to attend.

Presenting the 2016-2017 Homecoming Queen was Melanie Watkins. Melanie is a Junior and the daughter of AJ and Denise Watkins. She is the secretary of the Junior class and Pep Club. She is a member of the National Honor Society, HOBY and Big Flat Youth Group. She has been active in basketball and loves to play basketball and hang out with her friends. The 2016-2017 reigning king, Eddie Harmon, is a Senior and the son of Jon and Shelly Harmon. Eddie is the President of the senior class and a member of the Big Flat Youth Group, HOBY, Boys State Delegate, and Student Council President. Eddie plays basketball and is the 2017 800 meter State Track Champion. He plans to attend Dickinson State University on a track scholarship. His field of study is undecided.
