We've Got The County Covered

Blood Drive collects 41 Units in Chinook

Considering the weather we have been experiencing all winter, the turnout for the blood drive on Tuesday, March 6th was just under goal. We had 47 donors present with 41 productive units.

We had one first time donor, Cristen Friede. Richard Cronk reached 8 gallons and Dave Jensen reached 2 gallons.

The canteen was hosted by the American Lutheran Church and those helping out in the kitchen were Wenda Oehmke, Terry Grabofsky, Midlred Dawson, Sharon LaPlante and Beth Petrie. The time and effort by all involved certainly did not go unnoticed.

Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church once again provided the site for the drive at Wallner Hall. Donna Murdy, Patty Treftz and Judy Johnson attended to the check in and welcome table and Finley’s Food Store provided the paper goods, coffee and juice for the drive.

Door prizes were provided by the North Central Montana Cattlewomen and the American Lutheran Church. Prizes were awarded to Larissa Getten, Tandie Solberg, Elaine Hamilton, Crystal Huckabee, Brandon Murnion, Paxtin McCann, Cristen Friede, Alana Gunderson and Rachel Gunderson.

Everyone’s willingness and dedication to the Red Cross Blood Drive is very much appreciated. None of this could be done without you. With that being said, there are many opportunities for volunteering with the Red Cross Blood Drive. If you are not able to donate blood but would like to be involved in a life saving volunteer opportunity, we would love to hear from you. High School students, your volunteer hours also count towards a Red Cord at your high school graduation, even if you are not eligible to donate. If you are interested, please give Carla Jenewein a call and leave a message at 357-2491.

The next blood drive will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Wallner Hall. We are looking forward to seeing you all there. Great Job Chinook!!
