We've Got The County Covered
Martha Finch Bonebright, "Nana", passed away peacefully on April 18, 2018. She was 98 years young. Born to Clarence & Bertha Finch, she was the middle child of five Finch children. Martha was raised on the family farm in Chinook with her four brothers. Growing up, she recalled fond memories of working at Dick's Department Store, where she earned the large sum of 25 cents an hour.
In 1938, Martha married the love of her life, John Bonebright. It was a union that would endure for 71 years until John's passing in 2009. In those wonderful years of marriage, Martha and John spent much time camping, shopping, travelling the countryside (include an adventurous trip along the Alaskan Highway in their RV), and of course, square dancing. She was an accomplished watercolor artist, and her paintings adorn the walls of many of her family and friends. But the thing she adored the most was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was so blessed to spend many years with her and John.
Late in her life, Martha was fortunate enough to acquire a small cabin in Beaver Creek Park just outside of Havre. She delighted in having family gatherings and reunions, as well as hosting members of her church congregation. Many birthdays were celebrated at the cabin!
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Bertha Finch, her brothers Ray Finch, Bill Finch, Frank Finch, and daughter-in-law Florygene Bonebright.
She is survived by her son Fred Bonebright, brother Alfred Finch, granddaughter Frieda (Barry) Houser and grandson Frank (Lisa) Bonebright, and her pride & joy, great-grandchildren Monica, Amber, Allie and Austin.
Services are scheduled for Monday, April 30th at 1:00 p.m. to be held at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church, 410 5th Avenue, Havre. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to Van Orsdel Church.
