The Chinook Golf Course
and Country Club is holding
its 2nd Annual Community
Dinner and Live Auction on
Saturday, June 9th at the Blaine
County Fairground Commercial
Building.
Everyone is welcome to attend
as it features something for
everyone and is not just for those
who play golf but to anyone who
enjoys community get togethers.
The fundraiser is to help
raise funds for maintenance and
upkeep of the course. Equipment
needs to be repaired or updated
as well as fertilizer, bug spray,
sand and other common needs
for the course.
Last years event was held in
the fall and was a huge boost
to the course. This year it was
moved to June in an effort to
give more folks the opportunity
to attend.
The course is working hard to
better the experience when they
visit for members and guests
alike. A new Greens mower is
in the works as well as other
equipment upgrades.
There is a lot of things planned
for the night which begins with
a social hour at 4:00 p.m. The
Beverage Bar will open with
refreshments being handled by
the Chinook Eagles Club and will
be served throughout the night.
Barbecued Baby Back Ribs are
the main attraction of the Dinner
and are being prepared by Mick
Hefflin, Kris Parsons and their
crew along with help from some
wonderful women.
Ginger Hansen has organized
a fantastic event and gathered
plenty of great auction items as
well as many door prizes. Ginger
and Inez Halseth do all the baking
providing guest with some great
food to go along with the ribs.
Dinner will be served from 5:30
p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
The Live Auction will begin at
7:00 p.m. with Auctioneer Kevin
Elias running the show.
In addition there will be a
number of door prizes being
given away throughout the night
as well as raffle with a chance to
win $1,000. 200 Tickets will be
sold for the raffle and a limited
number are still available.
Following the auction a DJ
will take over the entertainment
for the remainder of the night.
This is a community event
meant to be a fun time for the
entire family not just golfers.
All proceeds will go to upkeep
and improvement to the local
course.
