Curtis E. Van Voast

Curtis E. Van Voast passed away March 22, 2018 in Kalispell, MT. He was born August 20, 1929 to Jess and Cora Van Voast in Turner, MT. Curt attended school in Turner and graduated from Turner High in 1947.

He later attended Northern Montana College. He married Joyce Jensen from Antelope, MT, but they later divorced. Curt served in the Korean conflict. He bought a farm south of Polson, MT and farmed and ranched most of his life. He later bought property on Flathead Lake near Rollins, MT where he rented out cabins for the summer months.

He worked hard on the place, did a lot of rock projects, and built a beautiful home. He hosted a Van Voast reunion there for 26 years. Everyone always looked forward to the get-togethers and appreciated his hospitality.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Warner, Bobby, and Dean. He is survived by his sons: Gene, Rick (wife Sheryl), and David all of Polson, grandchildren Jason, Kristi (husband Travin) Gray and their two daughters.

He is also survived by his brother Jack (wife Carla) Van Voast, sister-in-law Rose Van Voast, all from Turner, cousin Roger (wife Paula) Van Voast of Great Falls, and Greg (wife Doris) Van Voast of Helena, along with many nieces and nephews.

Several of the Turner Van Voast's attended a memorial service at his place on Flathead Lake on May 28, 2018, and reminisced about all the good times there with him. He was a fun-loving person!
