Waldo Francis Plumage, ( Hamba Intryasha) , "Weasal Moccasin" passed away July 4, 2018 in Billings, Montana. His wake/rosary was July 6, 2018, 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ft. Belknap.
Funeral services were at 10 AM in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on July 7th. Burial was with military honors in the Plumage Family Cemetery at Ft. Belknap.
Waldo Francis Plumage was born to Frances (Horn) Plumage and Joseph Plumage December 8, 1952, the 9th of 10 children. Waldo attended school at Harlem, graduating in 1970. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country. After discharge, he returned home and began his career working for the Ft. Belknap tribe.
From there, he worked for the BIA in Irrigation. He married Carol LaVallie and had two daughters, Carolyn and Helena. They divorced.
He also cherished his time being able to raise Kolynn Plumage. Waldo also had another daughter, Tana Leigh.
Waldo enjoyed hunting, bowling, golfing and was a member of the Thundering Herd Basketball team.
He became ill about 25 years ago and moved to Billings to be near medical care. Waldo made his home in Billings and raised his grandchildren there.
The joy of his life became his grandchildren and he participated in all of their activities until his health made him unable to.
Waldo is survived by his three daughters, Carolyn (Angel), Helena Plumage (Brooks SpeakThunder) and Tana Leigh Chandler (Jordan Mount). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Frances Eve, Stacey Plumage, Malayna Dionne, David Madera, and great grandchildren; Calliope Madera, Evelyn Door, JorLeigh Mount, Kadence and Kaloni Healy. His eldest granddaughter Frances Eve cared for Waldo for the past 10 years, until his death. Survivors also are sisters Jill Plumage, Sam, Cathy Swan (Phil), and brothers Chick Plumage (Dolly), Walter Plumage (Helen), and Jack Plumage (Delores). Preceding him in death are Wendall Plumage, Gloria and Ernest Cranz, Arnold Plumage, Tony Plumage, and parents Joseph and Frances Plumage and one grandson, Taylor. Waldo's mentor in life was Sonny Borrows, and his "son" Wiler, whom he raised from a pup. Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook is in charge of arrangements..
