We've Got The County Covered

We want to see Blaine County through the lens of our readers

What makes a picture great? The subject matter, the spontaneity, contrast, color? There are so many things that can factor in to ones idea of a ‘great’ picture. We are very proud of our front page picture each week and we want to involve our local photographers and casual picture takers in the process.

The front page picture is generally a stand alone photo of an event, scenery, animals, kids or people just having fun but there are so many instances that happen every day that fit the bill. Planning on setting up a shot or getting the right angle can be a task sometimes, so we at the Journal want to ask you, the reader to share some of the great photos you take with the rest of our readers.

Each week we will pick one photo from all that are sent in to use on the front page. Others may be used randomly in the paper. At the end of the year we will draw one entry from all the photos used on the front page to win a $100 certificate to the local store of your choice. Only the front page picture will be entered in the contest, pictures used in the rest of the paper are not eligible.

All photo’s must be taken within Blaine County and of current events. Photo’s must be taken within the publishing week so that we can show Blaine County as it is and not how it was.

Please send your photos to bcjads@mtintouch.net by 8.a.m. Monday morning to be eligible for the Wednesday edition. No late entries will be accepted. Please include a short description of the picture: who, what, when, where and why with the photo.
