Young landscaper helps beautify neighbor's yard

Ryder Hofeldt, eight years old in this photo, checks out a flower bed he created in his neighbor Myrla McCoy's yard last summer. Ryder, who plans to "be a farmer" often helps his neighbor in Chinook with her yard work. When he decided an area along a fence in Mryla's yard needed some landscaping, he hand-spaded the area, planted the flowers and found the ornamental edging to complete the project. Mryla said, "Ryder is quite the helper to me. He sees me working in the yard and comes over to see how he can help." Ryder is the son of Levi and Tara Hofeldt.
