Chinook Senior Center

Where did August go? Seems to me this month went way to fast. I had hoped we would have some time between not having to run the AC and having to turn on the furnace, but I don’t think that will happen. We are taking applications for the head cook position. Please stop by the center and pick up an application. Yoga will be starting on Monday mornings at 9:30 beginning September 10. It did not get into the calendar for September. The movies are every Wednesday at 1 in the library meeting room.

The Ice Cream Social was fun and well attended. It is always a pleasure to see so many people here at one time. Thank you to those who made financial donations, to the board members who helped serve and mostly thank you to those of you who came and helped make the day enjoyable.

Thank you for the financial donations, garden donations made to the center this week. Also thank you to Marilyn Williamson for buying new Bingo cards.

This past week we lost two of our senior citizens with Blanche Warburton passing on Friday and then Leona Gilmore passing on Monday. Our sympathies, thoughts, and prayers go out to the families. Thank you for the memorials made to the Senior Center in honor of these two ladies. If you are interested in leaving memorials in honor of your family member and or friend who has passed please stop by the center and talk to Marlane.

Our activities start at 1 p.m. and include Pinochle on Monday, Shanghai Rummy on Tuesday, Scrabble/board games, Whist or other cards, movie on Wednesday afternoons, Bingo on Thursday, and cards on Friday. The Kitchen Band plays on Fridays. Anyone is welcome to join us..
