Beloved son and brother Nicholas Hood RunningFisher 59, crossed over out of this world on August 18, 2018. Wake services will be Tuesday, August 28, 2018, 8 P.M. at St. Paul's Mission. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11 A.M. Interment to follow at Mission Cemetery, Scattering at Eagle Child Mountain. Nicholas came from a long line of Aaniih/Gros Ventre warriors his Grandfathers include: Bears Shirt Chief of the Aaniih/Gros Ventre, one of the principal signers of the 1855 treaty with the United States, next is Tall Eagle Chief of the Aaniih/Gros Ventre, he was the father of Chief Gros Ventre Jerry RunningFisher, one of the Founding Chiefs of Fort Belknap and the very 1st Captain of the Fort Belknap Police force, next is his Grandfather Snakes Headdress who was a former U.S. Army scout, he was the father to Frank Joseph RunningFisher, Decorated World War I combat veteran & he was awarded the Croix De Guerre by the Government of France for valorous service, he was part of the American Expeditionary Force serving with distinction. Years later he was awarded posthumously for his bravery under fire by President of the United States Lynden B. Johnson.

Nicholas was born December 27, 1958 died August 18, 2018 in Renton Washington from the impact of blunt force trauma after being struck by a passing motorist as a pedestrian as crossing the street.

Nick RunningFisher was a very kind and loving gentle man who was handicapped. He contributed his work and efforts for years at the millionaires club in Seattle, Washington. He attended schools in Bellevue, Washington and Kicking Horse Job Corp in Ronan, Montana. Nick was a highly skilled executive chef and worked at some of the finest restaurants in Seattle. Nick was also well known for his unique pizza recipes of fruit and goat cheeses and worked at Shaky's in Wyoming where he lived with his parents.

He is survived by his mother, Bara Buffalo-Hide of Dodson, MT- four brothers Young Bill (Ronelle) RunningFisher of Fort Belknap, MT- Frank (Ally) RunningFisher of Great Falls, MT.- Adam Elkboy of Lodge Grass, MT and Harry Beauchamp of Oswego, MT- a sister; Lorraine Moccasin of Spokane, Washington. Nick is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces and is also survived by a favorite cousin and friend, Burke Scown of Oregon. Nick was preceded in death in 2016 by his father, William Jospeh RunningFisher of Dodson, MT.

Nicholas will be greatly missed by his family and friends while awaiting resurrection in the happy hunting grounds here on earth and who have preceded him in death. Nicholas' military services will be remembered by his Merchant Marine buddies.
