Valley Clover’s initial 4-H year meeting

The first meeting of the 2018-2019 4-H year was held on October 14, 2018. Rhea and Harold Miller hosted the meeting in their shop. Once everyone arrived and the meeting was called to order, new officers were elected. The following were elected:

President: Kourtney Hanson

Vice President: Raynee Hasler

Secretary: Allyssa Schoen

Treasurer: Belle Elliot

Reporter: Clara Laird

Historians: Belle Elliot, Hannah Schoen, Morgan Friede and Clara Laird

Following the election of officers, the club members discussed upcoming community events and the clubs participation in the upcoming events. The Valley Clovers will participate in the Angel Tree present drive and each family will bring cookies or bars for the achievement night.

After the regular club meeting ended, Kendra Seilstad and Juli Snedigar, talked with the club members about enrollment, the projects that could be taken, and record keeping.

Following the meeting, we had a wonderful hamburger BBQ with lots of good salads. Thank you, Rhea and Harold Miller, for hosting the meeting and providing the hamburgers for the meal.

Love and Logic Parenting

Join us for some fun, laughter, dinner and night out and in the process learn some easy practical parenting techniques that work for children birth through adults.

Peggy Perry and Marilyn Granell will be teaching the Love and Logic method of parenting. This approach was developed by Jim Fay and Dr. Jim Cline and has been used effectively for 25 + years.

Sounds easy enough but never before in history have parents been faced with so many challenges! Whether you’re embarking for the first time with your new baby or navigating the turbulent teens with your youngest, our strategies and techniques will help you create calm and loving solutions. You’ll learn how to:

• Avoid unwinnable arguments and power struggles.

• Get your kids to do chores and other tasks without going to battle.

• Handle kids and technology.

• Get them ready for success in today’s complex world.

• Stay sane in the process.

Please RSVP Pastor Valorie at 357-2373 by Nov. 6 so we can provide enough child care and dinner.

A Healthier place to live?

Are you interested in helping Chinook and Blaine County become a healthier place to live?

There will be a public meeting to discuss the possibility of opening a Community Wellness Center in Chinook. It would include a gym and areas for gatherings such as birthday parties, classed of various kinds and a place for kids to play. Hopefully it would include sending teachers to other parts of the county as well.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 28th at the Blaine County Library Meeting Room in Chinook. Refreshments will be served.
