We've Got The County Covered
The Chinook Sugarbeeter volleyball team had a fantastic season this fall. The Sugarbeeters blazed their way through the District 6C-East undefeated, finishing a perfect 10-0, winning the District 6C-East Tournament and finishing third at the Northern C Divisional.
Leading the charge were seniors Kourtney Hanson, Megan Molyneaux and Lincy Johnson.
Hanson was selected to the District 6C All-conference team for the third year, earning first team recognition the past two. Hanson also earned All-State honors for the first time.
Hanson led the team with 279 Kills and a .276 hitting percentage. She also led the team in Aces and Blocks.
Hanson had a fine season at the net recording a season high 29 kills against the Malta M-ettes and breaking the 20 kill barrier seven times.
Molyneaux was named to the District 6C East All-Conference team for the second year, finding herself on the First team this fall. Molyneaux also garnered All-State Honors for the Sugarbeeters.
Molyneaux was second on the team in Kills, Assists and Digs while helping the 'Beeter back row keep balls alive.
Senior Lincy Johnson received post season recognition for the first time, earning Second Team District 6C East honors.
Johnson performed her Libero duties very well this fall, leading the team in digs with 212 while also leading the team in serve percentage at 93.9%.
