Elsie Bertelsen, of Harlem, was on the original seed show committee that planned the first Montana Seed Show in 1948. She was a junior in high school and was asked by the county extension agent to serve on the 13 member organizing group. The coming show set for March 14-16 will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the only surviving seed show in Montana.
This 70th year of the Montana Seed Show book is dedicated to all those who have worked in any way to keep Montana's only Seed Show thriving. So many people have helped in countless ways including planning, donating, exhibiting, setting up, taking down, preparing delicious food, providing interesting programs, entertainment, judging, serving as chairman and department heads. The list goes on and on. Special gratitude goes to the many businesses in our area who have so generously supported this event over the decades.
