We've Got The County Covered
On Thursday, March 14, Family Learning Night will take place at Meadowlark Elementary School from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The theme for the event will be "Across the Universe" and will feature the STARLAB® from the Museum of the Rockies (MOR) located in Bozeman, Montana.
The evening's events will focus on science, technology, engineering, and math-typically referred to as the STEM subjects. Although MOR provides multiple resources that support STEM education, Montana Content Standards, and Indian Education for All, MOR's two STARLABs are used heavily throughout the school year. The STARLAB provides an opportunity for students who cannot visit the Taylor Planetarium at MOR to experience the night sky at their school.
While trekking across the universe, parents will accompany their children on a journey through various stations and activities, collecting passport stamps as they make progress. Those who complete their passports by the evening's end will be eligible for prizes.
According to Meadowlark Elementary Principal, Mr. Jon Martin, the prizes will be books purchased at deeply discounted prices through the Scholastic Book Fairs program.
The community is invited to attend this STEM event. Anyone seeking additional information should call the school at 357-2033.
