We've Got The County Covered
Sandra Yvonne Christopher, 65, passed away peacefully in Harlem on April 9, 2019. Sandy was born October 20, 1953, in St. Ignatius, to Donald, a Norwegian cowboy and mill worker, and Cecile (nee Vanderburg) Christopher, a Salish racehorse jockey. She was known by many nicknames: Sandy-Girl, My Girl, Wild Child, and Tigger, to name a few.
Sandy liked to keep her hands busy and her hobbies included coloring, stringing beads, and her own special manner of tying precise knots in string reminiscent of her own form of macramé. Sandy was very astute and adept at getting her point across through her gentle demeanor, an often mischievous smile, clear gestures, and impish personality.
Sandy absolutely adored cake, a good cup of coffee, spending time with friends, going for a ride, and especially enjoyed getting her hair cut and having her nails painted. Sometimes, when the light was just right, you could catch her making captivating shadows with her hands in the beautiful, streaming sunlight. She relished shopping trips and getting outfits that were well coordinated. It was always very important to her that she had wonderfully scented lotions and perfumes.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by countless loving family members and dear close friends that thought of her as their dearest sister. Her wicked sense of humor, very affectionate nature, charming and buoyant personality were well expressed when she greeted those around her with her signature "high-five." She was quite simply adored by all who knew her.
A mass and burial took place at Jocko Catholic Church in Arlee on Monday, April 15, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:30 am at the New Horizons Unlimited Day Center, 606 Central Avenue West, Harlem, Montana.
