We've Got The County Covered
Rosemary Louise Akre passed away in Seattle, Washington on April 14, 2019 from a stroke. She was born on May 17, 1930 in Turner, Montana to Fred and Dorrit (Perrin) Hickel. She graduated from Turner High School in 1948. She married Forrest John Akre and they made their home in Harlem, Montana where they raised their three children. In 1964 they moved to Seattle where Forrest worked in construction. She worked for United Airlines for 20 years.
Rosemary was a member of the Catholic church. Her devotion to the Lord and her warrior spirit conjoined and took on her battle with stomach cancer 25 years ago. When diagnosed and discouraged from a viable traditional option, she enlisted a treatment overseas. She religiously followed her faith and the organic regime. We were blessed to have her those extra years.
She is survived by her children, John (Janet) Akre, Launa (Dan) Cone and Kim Akre all of Seattle. Also 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her sister Patty Holt of Kent, WA, brother Richard (Marge) Hickel of Turner, MT. Also numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Forrest, brother John “Jack” (Betty) Hickel, sister Shirly (Elmer) Brick and brother-in-law Jack Holt.
Memorial service is on May 17, 2019 in Seattle.
