New look Bear Paw Saloon set to entertain this weekend

The Aero Bar served as a gathering spot for many decades. Located on the west side of Indiana street on the 200 block it was a fixture within the community.

In January of 2019 ownership changed hands with JoAnne and JD Powell taking over. They soon changed the name to the Bear Paw Saloon and began work on upgrading and modernizing the establishment.

The couple had long wanted to open a bar and when this opportunity came along they were all in. With the idea being to attract a larger crowd, the thought of hosting ‘Open Mic’ nights, bands and other events was at the center of their remodeling plans.

Clayton Parsons has been instrumental in the renovation process and over the course of the spring and start of summer, worked with JD in recreating the saloon.

In addition to the necessary improvements to the interior, one of the most notable additions was the ‘Outdoor Lounge’. With a full service bar outside, canopy, cornhole and plenty of tables for patrons to comfortably socialize, it provides that added touch. The patio will be an ideal spot, weather permitting, to watch football on their TV with your friends or to just listen to music.

This week the Bear Paw Saloon has plenty going on and invite everyone to stop in, visit and have a good time.

On Thursday, they will be hosting a blind draw, two person team cornhole tournament. There is a small entry fee and winners will be paid through third place.

Friday night the Saloon will host the Stone Broke String Band. They plan on playing from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. and may decide to play even longer.

Saturday festivities will get underway at Noon and will feature a Rocky Mountain Oyster Testicle Festival and will also include a Pot Luck.

All of these events take place on the patio with the indoor lounge available for those who may be looking to get out of the heat.

Be sure to keep checking in with them for upcoming events throughout the year.
