We've Got The County Covered

Blaine County Library

Plan to join us Tuesday September 10th when will be hosting Montana author Jamie Ford. We will have a meet, greet and eat at 6:00 p.m. and Jamie will begin his presentation at 7:00 p.m. He will have books available for sale and he will gladly autograph his books. His debut novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, spent two and a half years on the New York Times bestseller list and went on to win the 2010 Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. Recently, that same novel has been optioned for a stage musical, and also for film. His second book, Songs of Willow Frost, was also a national bestseller. Jamie’s third novel set in Seattle, Love and Other Consolations Prizes, was published last fall. If you haven’t read any of Jamie’s books, we have them all available in both audio and book formats.

Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs-up for their own library card. Throughout the school year, public librarians and library staff will assist parents and caregivers with saving hundreds of dollars on educational resources and services for students. From free access to STEAM programs/activities, educational apps, in-person and virtual homework help, technology workshops to the expertise of librarians, a library card is one of the most cost effective back to school supplies available.

The library will have activities for kids from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 during the Sugarbeet Festival on Saturday September 14th. We will also be having a book sale during that time.

Free People Reading Freely Book Club will meet Monday September 23rd at 7:00 p.m.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
