In addition to the meal, a bazaar and bake sale will offer homemade bakes goods and crafts. The church is also sponsoring a raffle for a quilt made and donated by Ethel Siemen with all proceeds going to the Lutheran World Relief, an organization that works to end poverty, suffering and human injustice around the world. Tickets are $1.00 apiece or 6 for $5.00 and may be purchased at Richman Insurance or at the dinner. The drawing will be held at 1:00, during the annual Lutheran Harvest Dinner. Please plan to join us for a time of good food and fellowship.

Again the folks at the American Lutheran Church in Harlem are getting ready to pack their quilts, school kits, baby care kits, and personal care kits and get ready to send them away to people in countries that are not as blessed as we are.

The schools in these countries are not public and free, the parents are required to pay tuition if their children attend.

Mothers often have no baby clothes or blankets for their new born babies, so those LWR workers around the world put together the bare necessities to give some aid to these folks.

Personal Care kits, with soap tooth brushes, combs and nails clippers to go to people around the world who need these bare supplies that we take for granted. The quilts we have worked on all year will be used for warmth maybe by a mother and her children. It gives us a good feeling to help, and we know it gives many of you that buy tickets for our quilt that we raffle every year in order to purchase some of our supplies for these kits and quilts and this can give you the same good feeling. With this we can send quality gifts around the world. The yellow bee quilt is on display at the Milk River Pharmacy and if you would like to buy a ticket to win it, Hilary and Rani can fix you up.

The drawing will be at the Harlem Lutheran Fall Dinner on October 20th.
