The North Central Montana Stockgrowers (NCMSGA) and the Montana State University Collegiate Stockgrowers held their 6th Annual Meet-N-Greet on Saturday, November 16 at the MSU-Northern Student Union Building.
The North Central Montana Stockgrowers held their Annual Meeting from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Hensler Auditorium before joining up with the MSU-N Collegiate Stockgrowers for a social hour at 5:00 p.m. and Prime Rib and Shrimp Dinner at 6:00 p.m.
At the North Central Stockgrowers meeting, Chinook residents Richard and Paulette Cronk were recognized as the Cronk Ranch was given a plaque for being long time supporters and in appreciation for their dedication and support of NCMSGA.
The event was well attended with over 110 people being served a great meal. The MSU-N Collegiate Stockgrowers gave away several door prizes throughout the night as well.
Both a silent and live auction were held with funds raised being directed to the groups expenses throughout the year. The items available for auction came from their members, individuals in the community and many local businesses.
This years keynote speaker was Lane Nordlund, agriculture broadcaster for the Northern Ag Network.
Nordlund's speech focused on working together in hard times and educating the public about the livestock and crops we grow and raise.
The MSU-N Collegiate Stockgrowers awarded long time supporter Independence Bank as this year's Contributor of the Year. Independence Bank has always been supportive of the club since its inception six years ago.
Providing a perfect end to the night was the River North Band as they performed after the event for anyone to dance the night away.
The MSU Northern Collegiate Stockgrowers would like to thank everyone who attended and was able to help at this year's event and hopes to see you next year.
