Elda May Schwarzbach

Elda May Schwarzbach 97, of Dewey, Arizona passed away in her sleep in an assisted living facility in Dewey, Arizona on January 16, 2020.

Elda May was born on May 4, 1922 in Warrick, Montana to Nels and Belle Hokanson who ranched south of Warrick.. She attended grade school in Warrick and graduated from High School in Big Sandy, Montana. After High School she married Adam (Babe) Malone in December of 1941, who ranched on clear creek south of Chinook. Elda May and Babe lived on the ranch until August of 1970 when Babe passed away at the age of 56.

She moved to Havre, Montana that year and lived in Havre until July of 1975 when she married August Schwarzbach of Havre. Elda May and August moved to Anchorage, Alaska where August worked in communications. They returned to the lower US states in 1978 and resided in Mesa, Arizona. August passed away on July 2000.

Elda moved to an assisted living facility in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Belle Hokanson, and sister, June Collins.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Dale Guertzgen) Malone of Phoenix, AZ, brother Arnold (Joy) Hokanson of Havre, Montana and niece Karen (Gene) Lockhart, Virginia.

There will be no services since many of her friends have departed and the family is small. Please keep your good memories of Elda May in your hearts.
