In March the library is celebrating the well-loved children’s author, Theodor Seuss Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss, who was born March 2, 1904. He is known for writing and illustrating more than 60 books including such favorites as “The Cat in the Hat,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” For our passive program this month we will focus on his book “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by inviting you to share a place you plan to visit or somewhere you dream of going! There are also coloring sheets and a special activity table for the children. As Dr. Seuss said, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Beginning this month you will have the opportunity and responsibility to complete the 2020 Census. It is your choice to respond securely online at my2020census.gov, by mail or by phone. Your personal information is protected by law and cannot be used against you in any way. The library has designated laptops for census survey completion. Beginning March 12 you may come in and fill in the survey, which will take only about ten minutes.
Historical fiction readers will want to pick up the new book by Marie Benedict “Lady Clementine.” This novel tells the story of the ambitious woman married to Winston Churchill who stood beside him and advised him through two World Wars.
