Harlem Public Library Phase I Reopening Plans 4.27.2020

In accordance with Directives from Governor Bullock

• If you are sick, please do not enter the library.

• Practice good hygiene:

º Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; or use hand sanitizer.

º Avoid touching your face.

º Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.

• It is strongly advised to wear a mask.

• Practice social distancing while in the library. Stay at least 6 feet

from other patrons/staff.

º Only two patron desk top computers are available. Please observe signs and wash hands well before using a computer or other device.

º Only one person may be at the checkout desk at one time. Other patrons must stay behind taped lines on the floor.

• Only 8 patrons will be allowed in the library at any one time.

• Each patron has a limit of 30 minutes in the library per day.

• All toys, puzzles, blocks, etc. have been removed from the children’s area.

• The meeting room is not available for use.

• When browsing for books/DVDs: If you touch a book/DVD and you decide you do not wish to check it out, please place it on the green book truck. Do not place it back on the shelf.

• Those individuals who do not wish to enter the building will continue to be served using curbside service, home delivery or items may be mailed.

The staff is sanitizing all returned materials and keeping these items in quarantine for several days before they are shelved. All surfaces are sanitized each day. Computers/devices are sanitized after each use. The checkout desk is sanitized between patrons.
