Receive Quality Health Care from the Comfort of Home: Sweet Medical Center offers advanced virtual medical appointments

Sweet Medical Center has launched a new telehealth solution that allows patients to use their smartphone or tablet to receive in-depth medical examinations with a licensed health care provider in the comfort of their home.

“Our use of a telehealth platform is keeping our patients and staff safe and healthy,” said Dr. David Mark, CEO of Sweet Medical Center. “With the emergence of Covid-19, we’ve dedicated licensed healthcare providers to delivering virtual care.”

Telehealth appointments for primary care and behavioral health are currently available through the TytoCare app, which works on a smartphone and tablet. Patients receive a live telehealth videoconference, similar to FaceTime, with a licensed healthcare provider without having to come into a clinic. Patients can also access telehealth services via the phone only, in case they don’t have a smartphone, tablet or internet/data connection.

“In addition to offering live video conferencing visits, the technology we have chosen to use can also be paired with a kit of medical devices to expand our diagnosis capabilities,” said Mark. “These handheld kits work with your smartphone or tablet and allow for a more in-depth guided medical exam. We can offer a diagnosis, treatment plan and prescription, if needed.”

With the added TytoCare kit, a healthcare provider can examine your heart, lungs, throat, ears, skin, abdomen, heart rate, and body temperature, and diagnose and treat many of the most common conditions, such as cold and flu, fever, sinus pain and more. Since rolling out this new care delivery option in April, the organization has already conducted 750 virtual visits across our rural communities.
