Remember each person counts!

Join Carly every Tuesday at 10 A.M. for Story Time Online via Facebook Live. All kids, big and small, are invited to attend.

The Book Club meets each Monday at 4 P.M. via Skype. We are currently reading “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.” The link to join is on our Facebook page and on our library website.

The library now has five mobile hotspots available for checkout. These devices may be used to access the internet using a cellular connection. Hotspots may be checked out for 14 days to registered users in good standing for at least one month. All hotspots were acquired using Cares Act money; three from the Montana State Library and two as a result of a grant from Humanities Montana and the National Endowment of the Humanities. With the greater need for internet access because of Covid-19 for distance learning, teleworking and telehealth, as well as keeping in touch with family and friends, the library is happy to supply this service to our community. Please call the library for more information.

The Book Challenge for September is to read a book written before you were born. When you have completed the challenge contact the library so your name can be entered to win a gift certificate from a local business.

September is Library Card Month. If you do not have your own library card please stop by to register. Persons age 16 and over may complete an application presenting a current photo ID, working phone number and mailing address. Preschool children may check out under their parent’s/legal guardian’s card. Students under the age of 16 may apply for a card with a parent/legal guardian present who has a current photo ID, working phone number and mailing address.

“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” ~Garrison Keillor

Give yourself a gift by checking out a book at the library today! “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett is the story of twin sisters who grow up together in a small black community and run away at sixteen. But as adults one sister chooses to live with her daughter in her hometown while the other lives across the country passing for white with her white husband who knows nothing of her past.

Daniel Silva has written “The Order.” Spy and art restorer Gabriel Allon is vacationing in Venice with his family when Pope Paul VII suddenly dies. Gabriel is summoned by the pope’s private secretary who believes his master was murdered.

“Crooked Hallelujah” is by Kelli Jo Ford. This novel depicts four generations of Cherokee women on their quest for freedom and family. Against the backdrop of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma “we see mother and daughter struggle to survive in a world….intent on stripping away their connections to one another and their very ideas of home.”

Other titles to choose from include “Oona Out of Order” by Margarita Montimore, “The Wife Stalker” by Liv Constantine, and “The Islanders” and “Two Truths and a Lie” both by Meg Mitchell Moore.
