We've Got The County Covered
In an anything but normal 2020, Halloween and its traditional night of Trick-or-Treating by the kids of the community was toned down a bit by the Covid-19 pandemic, but Chinook resident Jeff Finley got a bit creative with his candy delivery system. With social distancing and safety being the topic of many conversations, Finley looked to the local Ace Hardware store for help into turning an idea he had saw on Facebook into reality. After getting all the parts he needed, PVC Pipe, he constructed his Candy Dispensing Mechanism. From the second story window of his house, he delivered candy through a decorated pvs tube to trick or treaters waiting on the sidewalk. "It was a slower year, about 50 to 60 kids stopped by," said Finley. "Everybody was very excited. I put a door bell on the tube so we could hear them from upstairs. I saw something similar to it on Facebook a few weeks ago and decided we need to do our version of it. I was able to get everything done in an afternoon. Definitely looking forward to doing it again next year."
