We've Got The County Covered
Blaine County Library will be closed Thursday December 24th and Friday December 25th in observance of Christmas.
In the spirit of Christmas, we would like to thank the many patrons who have generously donated to the library.
A shout out to Bridget Briere, Kyli & Tyler Kropf, Nancy Diemert, Colleen Overcast, Dr. Chaffin, Dr. Pike, Patty & Ben Hall, Lois Butcher, Shirley MacKenzie, Nancy Birnell, Wilma Mellville, Kenny Finley, Steve Edwards, Neal Rigg, Theresa Danley, Laura Kellam and Lindsey Adair. We appreciate all your donations.
Stop in and checkout a Christmas book from the December display table. The stories are usually quick reads and are a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday and forget about what’s going on around us! If you are looking for a unique gift for someone, we have “Notes from the Sweet Grass Hills” by Steve Edwards. The book is a compilation of stories from the South of the Border newspaper columns Steve wrote for the Blaine County Journal while Steve and Sherry lived in Whitlash, MT. The cost is $10.00, and Steve will donate 50% of the proceeds to the library.
New books this week include a couple of non-fiction books and several from some of our patron’s favorite authors. “Greenlights” is Matthew McConaughey’s biography he wrote from diaries he has been keeping for 35 years. “A Promised Land” by Barack Obama is another biography ready this week. If fiction is more your thing we have “All that Glitters” by Danielle Steel, “The Kingdom” by Jo Nesbo, “The Dirty South” by John Connolly and “A Song for the Dark Times” by Ian Rankin.
Youth Programs have resumed at the library with safety procedures in place to keep staff and students safe. After School Hangout for 7th and 8th grade is Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30. Tuesdays will be Story Time for ages 6 and under at 10:30. After School Hangout for grades 5 and 6 is Tuesdays at 3:30. Thursdays is LEGO Club for grades Kindergarten and up. Masks are required for anyone age 5 and over during all programs. Hand washing will be required upon entering the building. There will be social distancing where applicable. There will be no food or drinks during programs.
In addition to the hotspots we have available for checkout, we now have 2 iPads available for a 14 day checkout. The iPads were paid for by the Montana State Library using CARES funds and will be a permanent part of our collection.
