Captain James C. Baird

Capt. James C. Baird, Special Forces, U.S. Army, Airborne, Vietnam War: LRRP, MACV-SOG, Honorable Discharge, 1942-2021, member of the Ft. Belknap Assiniboine Tribe, MT. Upon returning from the war, James served as a Counselor in Indian Health in Billings and excelled as a University Instructor in Great Falls, MT. He completed an Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Masters Degree, with certifications in BSHS/CCDC. He is survived by his Wife of 21 years named Cynthia, Brother Oscar, Sister’s Diane and Alene, Children: Natasha, Matthew, James, Suzi, Grandchildren: Charles, James, Jessica, Christopher, Joshua, Carlton, Cousin Leutian Angelo, Nieces, Nephews and more. James was the biological Son of Mary Aurelia Kirkaldie (Assiniboine) and Curtis D. King (Ottawa). He loved his family, his people, MT and his country. He will be buried next to his Grandparents Edith Maybee and James Kirkaldie at Harlem Cemetery in late Spring.
