We've Got The County Covered
Kourtney Barber, 47, of Harlem, Montana, passed away at her home February 6, 2021.
Kourtney was born June 15, 1973 in Smithville, MO to Hazel and Jack Barber. She grew up in Pearl River, LA, where she spent most of her life.
Kourtney obtained a degree in Journalism from LSU, and a Sociology degree from UNO. She then went on to SLU, where she received her Master's Degree in Education.
In 2011, Kourtney moved to Harlem, MT, where she taught Special Education at Harlem Elementary and Harlem High Schools, as well as Meadowlark Elementary. She loved her job and loved knowing that she made a difference in her student's lives. Her "classroom door was always open" for her students. Anytime she was able to visit her family in Louisiana, she enjoyed her time by spoiling her great nieces and nephews.
Kourtney is survived by her parents, Hazel Barber and Jack Barber, her sister, Kim Barber, and her brother, Kelley Barber, and two beloved fur-babies, Rocky and Rambo. Aunt to two nieces, Brittany and Sadie, four nephews, Josh, Cole, Bryce, and Garret. Great-aunt to Trentyn, Morgan, Arabella, Nolan, Karter, Kolsten, Rylee, Keegan, and Beckham.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, her Aunt Marilyn, and her Uncle Owen.
Interment will be on a family plot at Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, MO.
In lieu of flowers, we have set up a Go Fund Me account for "her kids" in Montana who meant so much to her. All proceeds will go to the school.
