David T. Robo

David T. Robo, 79, of Chester, passed away peacefully, on March 6, 2021, at Liberty Medical Center.

David was born August 2, 1941, in Havre, MT, to Gustav and Frances (Hodges) Robo. He grew up on the family farm north of Joplin. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1960. After graduation, David carried on the family tradition farming alongside his father.

On June 27, 1962, David married Barbara "Jean" Hill. David and Jean began farming together in 1962 and started their family in 1963. In 1991, David and Jean sold their farm and moved into Joplin. David worked as a janitor at different businesses in Chester but most of his time was spent with his family and caring for his mother. David was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Chester. He loved painting, gardening, playing card games and dominos, hunting, but most of all, he loved to fish.

He is survived by his wife Jean, sons Thomas Robo, Brian (Deanne) Robo, David Robo, Justin (Tanya) Robo, his grandchildren Ashley (Chris) Cox, Kyah (Bradley) Davis, Brandon Robo, Adam Robo, Steven Robo, Cory (Jenni) Buckley, Gracia Robo, Cathryne Robo, Emily Robo, Cassidy (Angelo) Roboweitra, Abigail Robo, his great-grandchildren Connor, Jason, Wyatt, Timothy, Elijah and Ellie, brother Jerry Robo and nephews James Robo and Jeff Robo.

He was preceded in death by his father Gustav, mother Frances, sister Violet and sister-in-law Eunice.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Liberty Medical Center who have taken such wonderful care of David and sang "You are My Sunshine" over and over to and with him. Your kindness did not go unnoticed and we will forever be grateful.

Services will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Chester, on April 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with burial taking place after the service at the Joplin Cemetery.
