We've Got The County Covered
The Blaine County Wildlife Museum Board invites area residents to save the date of Saturday, May 15 and plan to participate in the Wildlife Museum's annual dinner from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The annual banquet and auction held every spring is the most significant fundraising event for the museum.
This year's dinner will be a take-out only affair that includes beef brisket, salads, and a dessert. For the ticket price, purchasers will not only receive the meal but will also gain admission into the museum that day from 4:00 - 6:00. Dinners may be picked up at the Blaine County Commercial Building between 5:00 and 8:00 on Saturday evening, May 15.
Another aspect of the annual affair, the auction will take place online at http://www.biddingowl.com/BCWM. Among the thirty items currently up for bid are tools, gift certificates, handcrafted items, art, household items, beauty products, and a Pendleton wool blanket. Auction items may be viewed from April 14 through May 14 at First Bank in Chinook or at any time by visiting the auction website. On May 15, the items will be on display at the Commercial Building on the Blaine County Fairgrounds.
Although the items are available for viewing, bidding will not open until noon on May 15. It will end at 8:00 p.m. that evening. A person isn't required to purchase a dinner ticket to participate in the auction.
Because there is a 5% fee to use the Bidding Owl website, only ninety-five per cent of the auction proceeds will go directly to the Wildlife Museum.
For more information or to purchase a ticket, individuals should contact one of the museum board members: Bill Harbolt, Roger Jergeson, Ken Schubert, Damian Ymzon, Jessica Aberg, Mari Anne Skoyen, Vicki Hofeldt, or museum manager Bonnie Ortner. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased and information can be obtained by emailing wildlifemuseum@gmail.com.
The museum's regular season runs from June 1 through August 31, and its hours are 9:00 – 5:00 Monday through Saturday, as well as 1:00 – 5:00 on Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. During the off season, tours are available by appointment only. To arrange a tour between September 1 and May 31, email wildlifemuseum@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.
