4-H Meeting Minutes

Big Flat 4-H

Big Flat 4-H Club’s April meeting was on April 18, 2021 at the Turner Christian Church. Avery Fox led the American pledge and Natalie Richman led the 4-H pledge. Members present were Hannah Van Voast, Isabella Van Voast, Izzy Baker, Ozzy Baker, Natalie Richman, Hannah Richman, Hudson Simons, Mary Simons, Piper Fox, and Avery Fox. Leaders present were Shannon Van Voast and Hillary Richman. Visitors at the meeting were Cali Van Voast, Susan Billmayer and Rani Baker. Roll call was name your favorite part about the changing of the seasons. Under Old Business Hannah and Natalie gave a report on the swine workshop. May 15 is the deadline for weighing lambs and pigs. Hannah Richman suggested an idea for our educational fair booth. We will begin working on the box after each meeting. Under New Business 4-H camp registration is due May 15. Avery moved and Piper second to do the rabies clinic this summer. Demonstrations today were by Izzy Baker, “How to Make Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Frosting” and Ozzy’s was about “Rock Tumbling.” Susan Billmayer spoke about 4-H when she was a member and how it has changed through the years. There are some things the same and some things different.

White Pine 4-H

Vice president Emma Klingaman, called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm on April 15, 2021 at the Triple E room. There were 20 members 2 advisors and 6 guests present.

The American pledge was led by Ethan Klingaman and the 4-H pledge was led by Lora Danley.

Roll call was “what are you taking to fair this year”.

Grace Buck read the minutes from the March meeting. Zoe Scofield motioned to approve the minutes, and Abigail Danley seconded it.

Treasure’s report: We have a balance of 713.26 in our account.

Other reports: Ethan Klingaman talked about the swine workshop.

Under new business, Klingamans have purchased over 100 chickens. The carwash / bake sale was moved to a different location but is still at the same time. Also, everyone was told to bring some buckets and sponges to the carwash and bring sweets for the bake sale.

Announcements: There is shooting sports 2nd of May. Lamb and pig tagging and Weighing deadline line is May 15th. There was a 4-H cloverbud meeting April 19th at 3:30 at the Triple E room. Also, there is a 4-H record book workshop April 30th at the Triple E room.

Demonstrations: Zoe Scofield talked about her dog, Abby Danley talked about her rabbit food primed, and Lora talked about 2 colors on a rabbit that are illegal to show.

Zoe Scofield made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Charlie Buck seconded. Meeting adjourned.
