Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Kylie Gopher competed in her first ever cross country race on Wednesday.
Wildcat sophomore Daniel Lawrence, right, and senior Titan Brockie left finished first and second at the Thunderbird Cross Country Meet on Wednesday.
The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Cross Country team is back on track and ready to run this fall. The Thunderbirds hosted their Cross Country Meet this past Wednesday with elementary, Junior High and High School athletes all being able to run through the beautiful mountain course.
The Thunderbirds have been held back this fall by Wildfire and Covid-19 but when the opportunity finally came for them to compete they were more than willing and able.
Teams included Rocky Boy, Harlem, Dodson and Hays/Lodge Pole. Harlem senior Daniel Lawrence won the boys race in 22:20 while Wildcat senior Titan Brockie was right behind with an effort of 22:24. Lance Morgan was third for the Harlem boys. Landen Gray, Moses Lawrence and Marty Snow also competed for the Wildcats.
The Thunderbirds were represented by Kylie Gopher who was competing in her very first Cross Country race.
