Thunderbirds fall to Big Sandy, Set for District 7C Tournaments

The regular season is quickly winding down for the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Volleyball team. After a delayed start, the girls packed as many games in as they could to get the conference schedule in before tournament time.

This past week the Thunderbirds dropped a pair of matches to the Chester/Joplin-Inverness Hawks. The Thunderbirds were very competitive in the first match. They dropped the opening set 25-19. In set number two the girls gave the Hawks all they could handle, but ran out of gas at the end in a 25-22 set loss.

Chester/J-I closed out match one with a 25-12 score to win the match 3-0.

In match number two the Thunderbirds suffered a 25-11 loss in set number one. The Hawks, with all the momentum went on to win set number two by a score of 25-19 and set number three 25-15.

The Thunderbirds finished the regular season this Wednesday at home against the Chinook Sugarbeeters.

Hays/Lodge Pole (2-12) will enter the District 7C Tournament as the No.7 Seed and open play against the Fort Benton Longhorns. The District 7C Tournament will be held in Chinook October 28-30.
