Lyle Cochran passed away on December 8, 2021 in Fort Belknap, MT. A wake was held Monday, December 13, 2021, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Services took place at Enemy Killer Community Center in Lodge Pole, MT.
Lyle Cochran was born May 20, 1945 in Fort Belknap, MT. He married Martha 'Marty' Goshulak Cochran on June 23, 1982 in Reno, Nevada. She was the one he could not live without. Lyle took great pride in his beautiful homes and all the experiences shared at them with Marty, family and friends.
He loved his passion for Rodeo and all that evolved from it. His legacy and stories are told far and wide. He enjoyed teaching his art to others, sharing his stories and experiences to help all succeed.
Lyle is a Hall of Fame Cowboy, winning championships, saddles, buckles, trophies and more in several Associations throughout his career. Lyle was the first All-Around Champion of the INFR in 1976. Also winning the Team Roping that year with his partner, Sam Bird.
Lyle is survived by his children, Roy (Tricia) Cochran, Kurt Cochran, Peggy (Chad) Seelye, Julie Cochran Monsalve, and Hope (Junior) Coulter, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren
