Cheryl Lynn Barber

Cheryl Lynn Barber, 53, of Chinook, passed away peacefully December 26, 2021. She was born February 10, 1968, in Havre, to Paul Dannels and Carol Upshaw. Early in life, her family moved to Chinook where she attended school, graduating as a Sugarbeeter from Chinook High.

In 1988 she was married to Bill Barber and they were blessed with three children Casey, Katey, and Cody. Cheryl's life was enriched with the welcoming of her three children, all of whom she adored and was blessed to stay home with and raise. When she wasn't keeping the kids out of mischief, you could find Cheryl working on crossword puzzles, word searches, or beating someone at a game of Scrabble. She was a creative and crafty artist who could quilt, do needlepoint, or anything in between. She will be remembered by many for her daily phone calls wishing friends and family a wonderful day.

As an active member of the Chinook community, Cheryl served in the Mountain Community Club; was a proud supporter and member of the American Cancer Society, assisting with Relay for Life; and was faithfully involved in her membership at Chinook Presbyterian Church- serving God, her family, and the community all through her devotion.

Preceding Cheryl in death was her mother, Carol Upshaw, and stepfather, James Robert "Bob" Upshaw.

She leaves behind her children: Katey Barber, Casey (Sheena) Barber, and Cody (Ashley) Barber; her grandchildren: Kallie and Caden Barber and Aria, Emery, Avery, and Emryn Barber; her father, Paul Dannels; her siblings: Lea (Joe) Ptoczny and Robert (Ruth) Dannels; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Services for Cheryl will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow, at Chinook Presbyterian Church, 437 Indiana Street, Chinook, MT. Burial will occur in the spring.

Memorial donations in Cheryl's honor can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
