Help us celebrate “Love Your Library” month during February! Each time you check out materials or sign in to use the internet, your name will be entered to win prizes. Adults may win a $20 gas card from EZ Mart and a free book; and children may win a Magic School Bus Space Game and a free book!

February is also “I Love to Read” month at the local schools. Children are invited to come to the library and check out the great selection of books we have available. This is also a great time for children ages 8 and older to sign up for their own library card. Parents must have a current photo ID, mailing address and phone number available when registering their children.

The Book Challenge for February is to read a book with a red spine!

The Book Club is currently reading the book “The Alice Network” by Kate Quinn. We meet on Mondays at 4 P.M.

The library offers a variety of programs for children each week. Little ones ages 0-5 and their parents/caregivers are welcome to Story Time each Tuesday at 10 A.M. Elementary students are invited to After School Squad featuring STEAM activities on Wednesdays at 3:30. Lego Club meets on Thursdays at 3:30. Take advantage of these great programs!

New titles this week include bestselling author Jodi Picoult’s latest novel “Wish You Were Here.” Diana O’Toole and her fiancé have planned a romantic getaway to the Galapagos for her thirtieth birthday. But the virus hits New York City and her boyfriend Finn cannot leave his job as a surgical resident at the hospital. At his urging Diana goes on her own. As the dream vacation goes awry Diana is forced to examine her relationships, her choices and herself.

James Patterson and J.D. Barker have co-authored “The Noise.” In the shadow of Mount Hood sixteen-year-old Tennant and her eight-year-old sister Sophie are checking rabbit traps. Suddenly they are overcome by strange vibrations intensifying into a crescendo of screams. Their father drops them into a storm cellar but the sound only gets worse.

Three new historical fiction novels are “Shadows of Swanford Abbey” by Julie Klassen, “The Cartographers Secret” by Tea Cooper, and “The Healing of Natalie Curtis” by Jane Kirkpatrick.

Nora Roberts second installment in The Dragon Heart Legacy series is “The Becoming.” The newest novel in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is “Go Tell the Bees That I am Gone.”

The library will be closed Monday, February 21 in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Mark you calendars for February 28 at 6 P.M. when the library will host the virtual Humanities Montana program “Finding Montana” with speaker Ednor Therriault.
