We've Got The County Covered
The Harlem Lady Cats earned a split in a pair of District 2B Conference clashes this past week. Friday the girls were in Poplar where they put their running shoes on and beat the Indians 70-57. Saturday they were back home and took on the Wolf Point Wolves. Wolf Point sits at No. 2 in the District 2B standings and were in complete control taking a 72-46 win from the Lady Cats.
Poplar took an early 13-11 lead against the Lady Cats but Harlem responded with a 16 point second quarter to take back control of the contest. Senior Taya Trottier scored nine points in the frame and thirteen in the half to set the pace.
The Lady Cats maintained the attack after the break and secured their second conference win, 70-57 over Poplar. Trottier led all scorers with 30 points in the win. Junior Ma'Lea Moore added 10 in the contest.
Wolf point grabbed an early lead Saturday and steadily added to it. The Wolves led 35-30 at the end of the first half ans cruised to a 72-46 win. Trottier led the Harlem offense once again, this time coring 23. Senior Chloe Messerly added 10 in the loss
The Lady Cats (2-4, 6-7) currently sit in fourth place in the District 2B as the season winds down. They will have an opportunity to improve on their position in their season finale Saturday at home against Glasgow Scotties. The Lady Cats will have an opportunity to move into the No. 3 spot. They will also recognize their seniors following the game.
