This week the library is celebrating the birthday of the beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. Children of all ages, from 0-100, are invited to make their guess at the number of fish crackers in the “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” jar. If your estimate comes closest to the actual number in the jar you will be the lucky winner of the fish crackers!
The Book Challenge for March is to read a book with a two-word title. If you have completed the February challenge please let the library know so your name can be entered to win a gift certificate from a local business. We are so encouraged by the number of people participating in the monthly book challenges. If you haven’t participated before this is a great month to start.
The new selection for The Book Club is “Moloka’i” and may be picked up March 7-11. The first discussion will be March 14, 4 P.M.
During the month of March you are invited to “Buy a Bag O’Books.” You may purchase a grocery sack full of used books for only one dollar! What a deal!
Come in see the display of books for sale by local authors. These include novels by Jack G. Young, a basketball playbook by Terry Kulbeck, two volumes of poetry by Dale Mailand, and “Honoring Identities” by Donna L. Miller. The library is happy to support these authors from our area.
The library is proud to announce the installation of a voting registration kiosk from Western Native Voice for those who do not have internet access. Applicants use the kiosk to begin the process of registration by filling out information and Western Native Voice will mail them a partially filled out application. Applicants can add the needed identifying information, sign it, and mail the application to the Secretary of State’s Office in the pre-addressed, postage paid envelope provided.

“Eat Right for Your Inflammation Type” is by Maggie Berghoff. This selection explains the three-step program to strengthen immunity, heal chronic pain, and boost energy.
Bestselling author Daniel Silva has written “The Cellist.” This explosive new thriller featuring art restorer and legendary spy Gabriel Allon.
Other new titles include “The Paris Bookseller” by Kerri Maher, “The Bone Cay” by Eliza Nellums, and “A Man of Honor” by Barbara Taylor Bradford.
Two books purchased in memory of Irene Young, mother of Jack Young, are “Captive Paradise: A History of Hawaii” by James L. Haley and “The Beatles Get Back” by the Beatles. This donation was given by the Harlem Education Association.
Free at-home Covid 19 tests are available at the library.
