American Garage Sponsors Coloring Contest

American Garage is holding an Easter Coloring Contest. They invite willing participants to stop by 40440 US Highway 2 East in Chinook to pick up a coloring page or to print it from online. Prizes are available, and winners will be drawn on April 14.

With two age categories, the contest is open to everyone. The Pre-K through fourth grade age group will be coloring a rabbit hauling a load of Easter eggs while those ages 11 and up-which includes adults-will be coloring a stained glass-looking egg. Local artist, Terri Meyer will serve as the judge of submitted artwork.

Prizes are available for each age group. In the younger crowd, the winner will receive an Ultimate Art Supplies kit by Crayola. Described by the manufacturer as a "portable art studio," the kit includes over 85 pieces.

The winner in the grade five and up category will receive an Art 101 Doodle and Color Art Set. This 142-piece set with three types of drawing and painting mediums comes in a wooden carrying case.

When asked what inspired the coloring contest, co-owner of American Garage, Heather DePriest explained: "We had a coloring contest back in 2019, and we wanted to do it again, as it was a huge success then. We lined the walls in our offices with the contest art, and it was so fun to see the different ways that each individual person colored the pictures. We just wanted to do something fun in the community for our youth. It's such a neat thing to see them inspired with creativity."

Completed coloring pages should be delivered to American Garage where they will be displayed until Easter. Winners will be announced on April 14.
