For parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers the library has a program to support family literacy and the love of reading. “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages parents/caregivers to read to and with their children. When you register your child the library will present them with the gift of a new board book! Track your reading (a book may be counted each time it is read, even if it is read many times) and your child will earn prizes along the way. Contact the library for more information.
The Friends of the Library are planning a spring basket silent auction fundraiser! Various organizations, clubs or individuals are donating baskets that will be on display at the library from May 25 – June 7. You may bid on baskets while they are on display. The evening of June 8 the baskets will be moved to Harlem City Park where final bids may be made beginning at 6 P.M. Ice cream, cookies and beverages will be served. You may also pay for your membership in the Friends of the Library or make a donation that evening. More information will be coming.
