The Montana Library Network along with the Harlem Public Library are hosting the virtual program “A Cooking Demo with Mariah Gladstone, Indigikitchen” May 20, 6:30-8:00 on Zoom. This program is free and open to all. Registration is required at tinyurl.com/Indigikitchen and a link to join will be sent by email. Or you may attend in person at the library watch party!

The next “Bring It to the Table” gathering for everyone involved in business or entrepreneurship will be May 23, 11:30 – 12:30 P.M. at the library. This session will cover “Marketing Among Generations: Boomers to Gen Z” by Shelby Humphreys. You may also join online at tinyurl.com/bringittothetableharlem.

The Friends of the Library are hosting a fundraising basket raffle silent auction. Organizations and individuals have graciously donated baskets that will be on display at the library May 25 – June 7 for silent bidding. The grand finale will take place at the Harlem City Park June 8, 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. where final bids will be accepted. Refreshments will be served. Membership dues to Friends of the Library may be paid that evening. Please support your local library.

Summer Reading begins May 31 with the theme “Oceans of Possibilities.” There will be programs and activities for all ages. There will be no children’s programming the week of May 23.

The Book Challenge for May is to read a book made into a TV series.

New books this week include the humorous romance “Dating Dr. Dill” by Nisha Sharma and the family drama “Empty Vows” by Mary Monroe.

Historical fiction novels include “The Diamond Eye” by Kate Quinn and “The Good Left Undone” by Adriana Trigiani.

“The Lifeguards” by Amanda Eyre Ward is a novel about how the bonds between three viciously protective mothers and their close-knit sons are tested during one unforgettable summer

The latest David Baldacci work is “Dream Town.” PI Archer is drawn into a murder case that will take him from mob-ridden Los Vegas to the glamour of Hollywood and the darkest corners of Los Angeles.

The library board of trustees will hold their monthly meeting May 25, 4:15 P.M. in the library meeting room.
