Annette (Olson) Powell

Annette (Olson) Powell, age 76, passed away at her home in Chinook, MT on May 26, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook, MT. There will be a reception following the service at the commercial building.

Annette was born September 1, 1945 in Malta, MT to Joyce K. and Armand Tremblay. Annette was later adopted by Joyce's second husband, Jens Olson.

Annette married Teddy Powell in December 1963 in Chinook. Teddy and Annette (Annie to her Chinook friends) started their married life at Teddy's family ranch south of Chinook. They welcomed their first son Zane and later their second son, Cody.

While Annette genuinely loved her role as a homemaker at the ranch, she also worked outside of her home driving school bus for the Cleveland school and later working at the stockyards in Chinook.

Annette was happiest at home, cooking and making a home for her husband and sons; both "out South" and later as they moved into "town". She was an exceptional cook having descended from a long line of amazing cooks. She settled into ranch life and was the backbone of the ranch, helping it continue into its third generation. Even as her health declined in her later years, Annette continued to be a force to be reckoned with as the matriarch of her house.

Annette is survived by her husband of 58 years, Teddy Powell, sons Zane Powell, Cody (Sonia) Powell (all of Chinook) sister, Claudia (Ernie) Cornelius of Great Falls; grandchildren Karson (Sarah Lammers) Powell of Helena, MT, Allison Powell, Britt Powell, Ben, Clayton, and Kristofer Parsons, all of Chinook.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, brother Arthur (Sonny) Olson, sister Rosalie Perrine, daughter-in-law Jeannie Powell and grandson Owen Powell.
